LECT connects teachers and educators throughout the Commonwealth.  We promote excellence in education through developing, supporting and promoting:

• International study visits and exchanges
• International collaboration and linking
• Information sharing and support
• Sharing experience and good practice
• Enhancement of the professional status of teachers

By developing international opportunities and networks for teachers we improve teacher skills and improve the educational achievement of children and young people throughout the Commonwealth, enabling them to develop the skills and resources necessary to build stable and prosperous communites.

Within the UK we work within its devolved structure and manage international professional development programmes for teachers England and Northern Ireland

LECT JOINS CFBT GROUP

The League for the Exchange of Commonwealth Teachers (LECT) joined leading education charity CfBT Education Trust www.cfbt.com in October 2007.

The addition of LECT to CfBT’s growing service portfolio will bring together both charities’ resources and expertise. CfBT, an organisation with a 40-year heritage in teaching and learning, works to provide education for public benefit worldwide. It will be able to offer greater international opportunities to educators both in the UK and overseas through its new links with LECT.
