Teaching Awards

Established by the Teaching Awards Trust, an independent charity chaired by Lord Puttnam CBE, The Teaching Awards publicly acknowledge and celebrate the crucial role that teachers play in the lives of our children and our future as a nation. The Teaching Awards Trust was established in 1998 as a registered charity (No. 1074968).

Through the Teaching Awards program the Trust aims to:

* Recognise, reward and share good practice

* Highlight the benefits of choosing to join the profession

* Celebrate the process of teaching – both on a national platform and in every community across the country

* Engage the media in positive coverage of the extraordinary work of ordinary teachers

The Teaching Awards are open to every education establishment in England, Wales and Northern Ireland teaching pupils aged 3 - 18.

Each year school communities from across England, Wales & Northern Ireland, together with members of the general public, are invited to nominate their most outstanding headteachers, teachers and teaching assistants for a Teaching Award.
