LECT connects teachers and educators throughout the Commonwealth. We promote excellence in education through developing, supporting and promoting:

• International study visits and exchanges
• International collaboration and linking
• Information sharing and support
• Sharing experience and good practice
• Enhancement of the professional status of teachers.

By developing international opportunities and networks for teachers we improve teacher skills and
improve the educational achievement of children and young people throughout the Commonwealth, enabling them to develop the skills and resources necessary to build stable and prosperous communities.

Within the UK we work within its devolved structure and manage international professional development programmes for teachers in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland
