LECT working in Partnership with Young Gifted
and Talented
LECT is organising a series of four Study Visits for the Young
Gifted and Talented programme (YG&T) run by CfBT Education
Trust. The teachers going on the visits were selected through a
national YG&T Prize Draw for Leading Teachers.
The aim is to recognise Leading Teachers and their contribution
to G&T education nationwide. By visiting the programmes in
other countries, we hope the Leading Teachers will be able to
participate in a knowledge exchange of effective whole-school
G&T provision.
The role of the Leading Teacher for G&T is to lead other
colleagues in identifying, providing and monitoring teaching and
learning across the school’s gifted and talented cohort.
The international visits are being managed by LECT and are
taking place during May 2009 to Hungary, USA, South Africa and
China. LECT are working in partnership with the Research Department
at CfBT on a piece of international research from the visits, which
will be published in the Autumn.
A successful pre-visit meeting event was held for all involved
on Friday 20th March.
