LECT's international professional development programmes offer teachers the opportunity to experience the best that Commonwealth education has to offer.
Although these programmes are open to teachers from any Commonwealth country, those from outside the UK should first contact LECT for information about joining the programmes.
Study Visits - are pre-arranged by LECT around a particular theme in education.
Teachers International Professional Development (TIPD) Programme - this programme is based on the participation of groups of two/three local authorities working together on their chosen curriculum themes.
Exchanges - these are organised on a post-to-post basis with successful applicants exchanging jobs and accommodation.
Scotland - LECT has been providing professional development and exchange programmes for Scottish teachers since its foundation.
Commonwealth Professional Fellowships in Education - this programme aims to enhance the leadership skills of key individuals in education in developingCommonwealth countries and through this to impact on the quality of teaching and learning in schools across the Commonwealth.
