“The TIPD experience was positive, motivating and enlightening – an excellent professional development opportunity.”

Teachers’ International Professional Development (TIPD)
The Teachers' International Professional Development (TIPD) programme provides teachers with a unique opportunity to study a particular facet of education in another country.
Since 2000, more than 17500 teachers have benefited from international study visit research programmes organised through League for the Exchange of Commonwealth Teachers ( LECT ), Specialist Schools Schools and Academies Trust (SSAT), Best Practice Network (BPN) and the British Council. For 2007-08 LECT has an allocation of 600 places and works closely with Local Authorities in England in facilitating first class visits to an increasing number of overseas destinations.
The TIPD programme is recognised worldwide as an outstanding form of CPD. There is increasing interest from overseas partners and this enables us to identify a specific destination for your project.

“This study visit made a significant contribution in recognising and celebrating the value of teachers, and education in general, on an international scale. The insights gained from the study visit, together with the positive effect on professional growth and self-esteem will certainly influence the future practice of all involved and therefore permeate to pupils” |
