Northern Ireland
LECT has been providing
professional development and exchange programmes for teachers from
Nothern Ireland since its foundation. Over the years our
programmes have developed and we now work closely with the
Department of Education Northern
Ireland (DENI) and local authorities in Northern Ireland to
provide teachers with a crucial resource for the implementation of
the international dimension in education.
LECT's mission in Northern Ireland
as elsewhere in the UK is to support teachers and promote
excellence in education throughout the Commonwealth by developing,
promoting and supporting:
- International educator exchanges and study
visits
- International collaboration and linking
- Information sharing and support
- Sharing experience and good practice
- The enhancement of the professional status of
teachers
In pursuing its mission in Northern
Ireland, LECT works closely with its stakeholders including
government and non-government bodies, institutions and agencies
involved with Northern Ireland education and international
issues.
Teachers from Northern Ireland have access to LECT's programme
of study visits.
