by MONDAY 10th JANUARY 2011.
Please read carefully the
information below before completing the application form.
You will be able to register with
our site to create a Login. An email will be sent to you once your
account has been created. This will enable you to return to a
partially completed application, in order for you to complete and
submit it to us. PLEASE USE THE Save BUTTON
FREQUENTLY AS YOU COMPLETE THE FORM IN ORDER TO AVOID LOSS OF YOUR
DATA. If you want to complete your application in stages
please ensure you SAVE it before using the CLOSE button.
Take care over the details as it
will be sent to your potential exchange partner and their
Principal, and will form the basis of the decision about the
exchange proposal.
The application consists of
14 Sections and all of them need to be completed.
In Section 1 of the
application form you will be asked to upload your profile
picture
In Section 8 of the
application form you will be asked to upload copy
certificates of your formal teaching qualifications
In Section 9 of
the application form you will be asked to upload:
· two-page photomontage of
your home. This should comprise colour, digital photos
printed onto no more than 2 sheets of A4
· floor plan of
exchange accommodation (one page)
Please do not include any additional
information (leaflets or booklets) about your school or area. These
can be provided directly to your exchange partner at a later
stage.
When submitting your form you are
required to pay the Programme Registration fee of £50.
Section 14 of the
application form will open the SecPay form for secure online
payment.
Once your application is received
and reviewed, we will write to your Headteacher requesting a
confidential reference letter. Please make sure you write your
Headteacher’s full name, title and direct email address on the
application.
Once both the reference from the
Headteacher and the programme fee are received the applicant will
be notified via email if the application is accepted for the
exchange programme.

carefully and share with your Headteacher the Commonwealth Exchange
Information for Applicants and Headteachers information booklet
available on the website before completing your application.
Unfortunately, we are not
able to consider applications from teachers who do not meet the
requirement of having completed a minimum of five years teaching
experience, by 31 December 2010 (inclusive of the probationary
teaching year)
Preferred Exchange Destination
Please list Australia, Canada in order
of preference. If you have a preference for a particular
province/state in Canada or Australia please indicate it. If you
don’t have any preference please leave this section blank. Remember
that your chances of being matched are greatly increased the more
flexible you are about the destination.
Applicants must be aware of the
geographical spread of the exchange destinations. Participants
should research any offer of an exchange destination in order to
manage expectations. However, as places are limited candidates
should take into account that turning down the offer on the basis
of location may result in being unmatched, therefore not taking
part in an exchange. We primarily match on the basis of
assignment.
